The concept of artificial intelligence

Artificial intelligence expresses the ability of these digital devices to perform tasks associated with intelligent beings.

The concept of artificial intelligence (AI) is linked to the intelligence associated with digital or electronic devices such as computers, mobile devices, or robots. AI refers to the ability of these digital devices to perform tasks typically associated with intelligent beings.[1] The term AI applies to systems that possess human-like cognitive processes such as the ability to reason, discover meaning, and learn from past experiences.[1] Examples of processes performed by digital devices that are attributed to artificial intelligence include: Discovering proofs for mathematical theories, playing chess, medical diagnosis, web search engines, and voice or handwriting recognition.[1] The history of artificial intelligence dates back to classical Greek philosophers, and the study of artificial intelligence began in 1940 in a school of thought called connectivity, which focused on the process of thinking. Alan Turing presented a research paper in 1950 studying a thinking machine that mimicked humans without noticeable differences.[2] Huxley Hodgkin followed, presenting a model that simulated the human brain as an electrical network representing neurons, and an electrical current that simulated the impulses that activate or deactivate the cells. These models and studies helped launch the concept of artificial intelligence in 1956 at a conference held by Dartmouth College.[2] Due to the lack of high speeds and storage capacities, artificial intelligence research stalled for a long period, then resumed in the 1980s after the United States and Britain presented the 5G project in computer technology.[2] In the early 1990s, artificial intelligence research shifted its focus to what is called the agent. The intelligent, which is used in news retrieval services, online shopping and web browsing, is still being used by researchers in unprecedented areas such as; The assistance provided by robots, customer service programs, phone answering, and more.[2] How Artificial Intelligence Works: Artificial intelligence operates in the digital environment through the availability of digital devices and specialized software for analyzing and designing algorithms and machine learning. In general, an AI system can handle large amounts of training data.[3] This training data is used to form associations and patterns that are later used to build future predictions, such as the automated responses in smart robots and the process of identifying and describing objects in images by reviewing millions of examples stored in the smart device.[3] Categories of Artificial Intelligence: Artificial intelligence is used in many electronic and digital fields and exists in various forms and in many devices, mimicking the intelligence found in the human mind. Artificial intelligence falls under two main categories: Narrow AI: Narrow AI, also known as weak AI, is a type of intelligence that mimics human intelligence but focuses on a single, limited type of intelligence. Narrow AI concentrates on performing one type of task very well, focusing on executing a single task professionally, but it operates under much greater constraints than other types of intelligence. Human.[4] Examples of narrow artificial intelligence include:[4] Google search engine. Image recognition software. Personal assistants, such as Alexa and Siri. Self-driving cars. Artificial General Intelligence (AI), also known as strong AI, is a type of intelligence found in machines and smart devices. AI is characterized by giving machines a general intelligence similar to that of humans, enabling them to use this intelligence to solve problems.[4] Examples of devices with AI include: Robots are used to accomplish numerous tasks and make decisions based on the situation. However, building robots with human-like intelligence remains challenging and requires the development of large and complex neural networks similar to those found in the brain.[4] Types of Artificial Intelligence: The following are types of artificial intelligence: Reactive Machines: Reactive machines are considered the simplest level of robots. They are designed to handle only one type of data and respond to current situations only.[5] These machines are incapable of creating memories or using current information to build and make future decisions to improve their capabilities or develop their intelligence. They are designed solely to respond to the current situation.[6] Examples of reactive machines include: Machines designed to play chess against humans, such as IBM's Deep Blue, are designed to respond to a player's moves by evaluating the pieces on the chessboard and moving them according to their own coded playing strategies.[5] A limited memory machine is a machine capable of storing a limited amount of information based on data it has previously processed. This allows a limited memory machine to build knowledge from memory when combined with pre-programmed data.[5] Examples of machines using limited memory include self-driving cars. These cars store pre-programmed data such as maps or traffic signs, compare this stored data with surrounding information such as the speed and direction of nearby vehicles and pedestrian traffic, and then take appropriate action based on this data.[5] Theory of mind was used in the design of the famous robot Sophia, a robot capable of using information to interact with situations in a human-like manner, which would teach the machine or robot how to act.
